New Year’s Resolution in April?

Twitter, FaceBook, LinkedIn, Yahoo Groups…..we have all heard of these social networking sites. But how many of us are really using them and figuring out how to make our businesses or our lives better?

I am not a resolution-making type of person. But late last year, I decided that I needed to start exploring these technologies myself and challenged myself to start using them. I was surprised at what I found and how many different ways you could use them as a recruiter, marketer, professional and a passive or active job seeker.

While I don’t consider myself an expert, I have dabbled in the social networking sites, attended webcasts to help me understand the functionality/potential, and read lots and lots of blogs, tweets or articles on ways people are using them to achieve their personal or business goals. I was amazed at the amount of good professional advice I found, all trying to make it easier for people like me (and you) to take the plunge!

Some of you reading this have probably been using these for years or at least months. For those of you who are not (and I know there are a bunch of you out there), I have a challenge for you. It doesn’t cost you anything to try these social networking sites. Why not pick one site this week or this month and just try it. Then when you figure out how that works and if you like it, you can try a second one. I am going to make this easy for you; just click on the links below, and you can start now!
