Well, it’s a new year full of new opportunities. To follow along the same line as my last blog, I would like to tell you about some new opportunities that Verizon Telecom has is the Potomac region. We currently have opportunities for Consultants (Part-Time).
As a Consultant (P/T) you will be handling requests from existing or new customers or their agents (where applicable) for installation, disconnection, or changes of telephone systems and services. You will also be responsible for meeting or exceeding corporate requirements for sales objectives through identification of customer needs and recommendation of telephone product and services to accommodate same. This position requires a minimum of twelve (12) months continuous experience within the last 5 years in Retail Sales, Call Center experience and Commissioned Sales of high priced items preferred. This is a great opportunity and we have positions located in Salibury and Silver Spring, MD, as well as, Charleston and Clarksburg, WV. Read more about these positions on our careers page.

Looking to this very special New Year in the USA I believe your forecast to be on target and have great hopes that 2009 is a year full of new opportunities in the Potomac and Mid-Atlantic region as I am ready to take on the challenge. I am a flexible and forward-thinking prospective employee that has previously worked at Verizon for many years in various positions in Network Operations. Each of my former positions required tactful customer service contact with both internal and external customers, advanced knowledge of available products and services, resourcefulness in problem solving ability, an understanding and responsibility for meeting or exceeding corporate objectives and the ability to sell ideas, products and services to my customers.
I have submitted applications, including resume, and hope to be seriously considered and earn one of the P/T Consultant position openings now advertised at the Clarksburg, WV and Pittsburgh, PA centers. I believe that utilization of available known quality resources will serve Verizon’s objectives and hope that you agree.
In my spare time I swim, golf, ski, read and serve the community. Presently I am serving as Chair on the State Board of Directors of a 501C3 non-profit dedicated to providing training for WV’s mothers and daughters in marketable non-traditional skills and assisting them with resume building and job placement to help them enter and build a more promising future for themselves and their families. Very rewarding and supported by the Verizon Foundation.

Hi Suely! - Excellent blog, very informative! I've been in the US now for 8 months having moved from England. I've worked in the Action Sports Industry for 12 years, however due to the current economic climate, job wise, it's very slow to say the least. Therefore I'm opening myself to other opportunities! I noticed a banner on the side of the Verizon building on Ocean Blvd in Long Beach, where I live, advertising for Verizon Operators. Applying online on the Verizon website, I am unable to submit my resume.
