Happy Monday & Feedback time....

Its been almost 3 months since I started this blog, so I thought it was time to get a little feedback. Now, most of you are thinking that all I want to hear is the good things, but that is not true. I want to hear it all, the good and the bad... I believe they call it constructive criticism.

So, for starters, how do you think this is going. Am I giving you the information you need, am I responding to you in a timely manner, am I responding to everyone, do my responses help you?

Conversely, do I talk about things that you want to hear about? If not can you provide me some suggestions and/or topics that you might like to hear more about, I would be very interested in feedback, so please feel free to send them to me. As I stated early on, this blog is for you first, so please provide me your feedback, the good and the bad. It is all appreciated as it will make this format better, and that is the goal. Thanks again!

Kelly,

First of all, I really like your new photo. So much now like a columnist. I left you a message earlier in the other part I was writing to you in. Like I said before, this blog is a big help and we appreciate it. Followups on my account were a bit slow, but still appreciated. You are helping out alot of people, so I understand. Thanks so much you for time.

Hi Kelly
I am interested in seeing if I can find a home with Verizon. I attempted to post a Resume with Verizon, but the final step was encountering an error upon completion. Can you see if my resume was received?

Thanks,
Herald Kelly Wade

Hello Kelly,

With all the transitions that companies are experiencing and trying to remain innovative, I admire your initiative for blogging with consumers and potential applicants. While I have submitted a resume, this type of response level provides a level of interaction that most companies will not even reach out or attempt. As an innovative strategy, thank you for giving us the opportunity of giving you feedback and support on your venture and three month anniversary.
Since positions are very specified, I am wondering how can a person who has been loyal to one company transition into a company, like yours, and work this same loyalty factor into that new position? I am very interested.

Appreciative,
ESutton

Harold,

I have confirmed that you did apply and we have received your resume. However, you do need to submit your application. Therefore, I have asked Jocette Hyman from my team to reach out to you and work through that. I am sure she will be able to assist you. Thanks again.

Kelly,

I decided to go ahead and try for the Business Consultant position here in Pittsburgh. The only problem is, being a former employee, it tries to schedule a test, but comes back with no testing dates available. The error I talked about before with the technical jobs, SETs, Services, ect., is that it does not give me a testing setup link and ask me for my SSN like the business end did. Is there anyway that if something comes available that I can be put in for testing. I do not know if it is just another error, or that there is no testing available. I do not need to take the UTB. I remember it should tell me that someone should contact me, because I already took the UTB, but it does not. I am not sure if this is another error. It happened the same way when I tried to apply for the permanent Consultant Job about a week or so ago.

Thanks again,

Jim

Hi Kelly,

This is Herald, (shamrock65803) I forgot my password so I had to come up with a new ID.
I was contacted by Verizon and told to apply for a job then they will review my resume. In Charleston, WV there are only posting part time jobs which will not work for me. I do want a chance to work there but if you review my resume you will see I really can't work part time. If anything can be done let me know please.

Thanks,
Herald

Hi Kelly,

Man are you on the job or what! I received a second phone call from Ms.Jocette Hyman-Paul. She sent this email:
Harold,

It was a pleasure speaking to you on today and I hope we can be of great assistance to you in the near future. As mentioned, we presently have the Part-time position available in Charleston, WV but we are hoping that more opportunities will become available soon.

Please feel free to contact me at anytime should you have any concerns or questions. Again thanks for your interest in Verizon.

It was a pleasure to speak with her. She instructed me to contact her from time to time to see about jobs that may fit my needs and Verizons. I have to tell you that it is refreshing to me to actually see a company that is "looking" for people and are willing to earn a better reputation as an employer by treating people as though they actually had value! Great work, please keep it up.

Herald Wade
P.S I am having difficulty with user ID and pw. It appears to reject my password each time I revisit? That is why the new ID? Suggestions?

Kelly,

I applied for the customer service/sales position and passed all of the tests. However, I went for the interview and I received a letter from Verizon two weeks ago saying I didn't pass the interview portion.

It also states that I can retake this portion in six months.

I have 25 years of sales experience and have excellent customer service skills.

I don't know what part of the interview I failed and would like to know how I can improve this section. The letter doesn't state why I failed.

Thank you.

Donna

P.S. Love the new picture of you. Very professional.

Kelly,

Today, this technicial listing popped up in Pittsburgh - Engineer - Video Network Engineering on the careers site. I was able to apply, like I did for the others, but I still get no "Schedule Test" link on the technical job side of Verizon, just on the business side jobs. I would really be interested if I could get past this hurdle. I think it is what is keeping me from applying for these technical jobs that pop up, because that is how you apply your Social Security Number to the position. I have added my regular email to this posting as well with my last name, so you can check if it has applied to the position for me.

Thanks,

Jim

Jim,

Good Morning. I researched your question and that position is actually a management position, so there is not on-line test scheduling. For our management positions, the recruiters review resume and submit for futher consideration to the hiring managers. Therefore, scheduling will not be an issue for you on this position.

Good Luck and let me know if you have any questions.

Donna,

Good afternoon. I have been informed that there is not longer a number to call, however, a member of the Verizon Team would like to handle this question with you directly, so can you provide me your email as well as your CBR number. You can email me at kelly.a.mccorkle@verizon.com to keep it private. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I signed up to this "thingy" because I have a question for you.

I tested and interview for your company sometime ago and was very excited to be told that I would hear from Verizon within 5-7 days. Its been over 4 months or so and other than my cell and house bill (hint, hint. LOL) I haven't heard anything. Im writing because I just thought that if Verizon HR said that they are going to call/email/send mail then I would've Held my breath. Thank Goodness I didn't. I am/was very upset and disappointed not because they didn't call, but because they said that they would and didn't.

Missy,

Good afternoon and thanks for the inquiry. I would be happy to help you, but first I need to know what position you applied for, your full name, and what location it was.
