If you are looking for a job in NJ, PA, or DE, you've come to the right place!

Morning All. Yes, I know, it has been awhile since I blogged, but it was a long weekend, so forgive me. But, the good news is that over the weekend, we had a posted a lot of new positions, including Sales Consultants, Operators, Telephone Account Managers, and Account Executive. Have you checked the agents you set up, have you been back to the site to see what is new, if not, you need to go. Some of you have been asking me about your applications on file, now is the chance to see what is open and get re-acquainted with Verizon. We are growing in many areas, and to keep up with the demands, we are looking for you.....The highly skilled, motivated, energized, flexible, candidate that you were. So, come join the Verizon team, where you will meet and work with people just like you, and the opportunities are endless!

Hi Kelly,

I came across your blog by the link on the Verizon careers page. I have searched the job listings page, but unable to find the appropriate department/field within Verizon that I'm looking for, so I was hoping you could help me find the right contact.

I am an entrepreneur looking to work for, and help a telecommunications company such as Verizon develop revenue opportunities via wireless advertising platforms.

This sounds slightly non-descriptive, and I apologize, but again, I'm hoping you might be able to help me along. If you have any information or suggestions that could be of help. I'd greatly appreciate your feedback.

Thank you.

Hi Kelly,

My problem is that I have applied for several positions meeting my skill set and 15 yr's experience but I don't have any feedback.

Is there a number to call to see if the positions is still available?

Kelly,

I have worked for Verizon as a temporary term employee in the past, and I am looking for a permanent position with Verizon. I have been watching the jobs pop up and then disappear on the Verizon site for Pittsburgh. My question is that when you have taken the required tests already for the positions I am applying for, and you get no link to set up a test, how do you get an application submitted for these positions? Is this why these jobs are passing me by, and I never hear anything? I apply for them usually the day they appear, but I never hear anything. Can you let me know how to approach this?

Thanks

Hi Michael,

Thanks for the inquiry. Wow, I must admit, your question is a little ambiguous. So, just so I can lead you in the right direction, are you looking for a permanent position? Let me know and I can elaborate further. Thanks.

McRubin,

Hi. Thanks for the inquiry. To make this a little easier, can you tell me what position you applied for? Thanks in advance.

Jpc,

Thanks for the inquiry. Would it be possible for you to tell me what title you held and when? That way I can research and get back to you with some good direction. Thanks in advance.

I am a previous Lucent Technologies employee who was dislocated. I am seeking employment as a lineman in the state of WV. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

Hi Whitey,

Thanks for the inquiry. Have you applied on our website? I would suggest starting there, but wanted to confirm first that you have as I may be able to help you further. Please let me know and I will take it from there!

Thanks!

Kelly,

I was a temporary term Switching Equipment Technician from Oct 23, 2006 to Dec 28, 2007. I recently applied for 3 Services Technician Jobs that were posted last month here in Pittsburgh, Bethel Park, and Sewickley, but like the other jobs I applied for, I did not hear anything and the jobs disappeared from the website this past Monday. Any help would be appreciated. My email is jimmy15216@yahoo.com. If you could email me, I can give you my full name and any more info you may need to look into it. Thanks.

Kelly,

I was just checking back on my comment made earlier, I had thought I put the wrong date. I started looking back through some of the archives on your blog. I just want to say that it is a wonderful thing you are doing for people. I see you almost answer each individual, and you are doing such a great service, and helping out so many people. Just in case someone has not thanked you lately, "Thanks" for all your help. You do not know what it means to some people. I know I worked hard to get into Verizon the first time I did, and I was so disappointed when I was layed off because they closed our project down. I really wanted to make a career with Verizon with my college background. Any help you can give me in why I am being passed over would help. I would have thought Verizon would look to previous employees, because they have passed the background checks and all the other checks. I know we had the 6 month no hire policy with the temporary term employees I was with, but it was up in June for me, and I have applied for 5 positions so far since then and have not heard a thing. But anyways Kelly, I appreciate you taking the time for each and every one of us, and I am sure I speak for the other people as well. :)

Jimmy,

Thank you for saying "thanks". As you can imagine, blogging is not my full time job :), but I wanted to allow people to think of me as real, and I am here to help. I am going to look up your application history and investigate what happened on the positions you applied for and get back to no later than Monday! Have a great weekend, and thanks again!

Jimmy,

I apologize, but I do need some additional information about you, such as name etc. So, I have asked that my PA strategist reach out to you via email to get additional information so that we can research further. Her name is Angela Culbreath and you should hear from her shortly. Thanks again.

Kelly,

Has there been any update on my application submission situation from being a former employee? I have not heard anything back about it. I submitted the information you needed to Angela on the 12th.

Thanks,

Jim

Hi Kelly,

I hate to bother you again, but I was wondering if you have heard anything about my situation. I have not heard anything at all in the last month. I have ran out of unemployment, and I am looking heavily for a position in the Pittsburgh area. Do you know if there are any SET positions coming up, or Service Tech jobs in or near the Pittsburgh area I could get help in applying for since I never hear anything from just applying via the website. Any help would be appreciated.

Jim,

Hello. I was able to get a status and for now, we are not hiring externally for technicians in that area. However, we were recently approved for Customer Service Positions. Would you be interested in looking into that?

Kelly,

Thanks for getting back to me. I would only be interested if there are any permanent positions. I was trying a few weeks ago to get scheduled for one, but the permanent one left. Mostly all I have seen is temporary now, no benefits. Do you have anything that would be a permanent position in the Pittsburgh area? If you do then I would be interested.

Thanks,

Jim

Hi Kelly,

I found your blog while trying to do some research concerning a Customer Sales and Service Consultant position which I have applied for. I took and passed all of the tests and also completed the structured interview. I have received a letter stating I passed the interview also and would be contacted if there was a position available. While at the interview I was told that alot of positions needed to be filled and would hear something within 7-10 days. I did receive the letter stating I passed but I do not know how to find out what the next step is or if I am still being considered. Spmeone who worked with me has started training and told me that there is a training class starting at the end of the month. I am extremely interested in joining Verizon. The research I have done tells me this would be a great career opportunity and a good fit.

Any guidance you can provide will be appreciated.

Thank You,
Angela

Multi-Media Services Technician 09/11/2008

Hello Kelly,

Can you please give me some feedback on several of my applications I submitted, in the MD,VA,DC and NJ area. I applied for the above position and Cable Splicer. I received many calls in regards to the Boonton,NJ Multi-Media Services Technician position and was told to wait for the next step. Since I passed all required examinations and been told just to wait for the next step. Well it's been several months now and I still have not heard from Verizon as promised. I do not understand Verizon, I know you need Techicians I've passed all your exams and yet no one will give me that next step. Please Please advise.

Thank you,

Melvin Raymond Newman, Jr.
