New Year Professional Resolutions

Most of us come up with many resolutions that we want to accomplish by the end of the year. These could be personal goals from losing weight, having better relationships, traveling, etc. But what about professional resolutions, those that will pay our bills, and will allow us to have the life we deserve. Here are some tips that will help you accomplish and plan your career accordingly.

1. Technology is essential: take a couple of courses that will help you achieve higher technical skills (i.e., Boolean search, online research, software skills). In this global economy, the prerequisite of obtaining fast information is necessary. This can be done in colleges/universities, tech schools, and even some community classes are available.
2. Join a network activity: being able to obtain and share information with other professionals who are already working in the field of your interest will help you understand the career that interests you the most.
3. Learn something new: there is always an opportunity to learn something interesting for your career needs. For example; learning another language will not be a bad idea since businesses nowadays require you to deal with clients from around the globe.
4. Clean emails and update contacts information: start a new year by emptying your inbox mail and save the contacts that you will need in the future. This will help you organize your contacts so you can build the right relationships. Sometimes you just never know when a contact will come in handy, so organizing contacts in a folder and adding notes to them are essential.

And finally don’t forget to have fun and enjoy every activity. After all, you already have a plan and a map heading you in the right direction. Let’s take some time for ourselves to evaluate our career resolutions. Are there any resolutions that you would like to share with us??....

Thanks
