Remembering Those We Lost and Those Who Served

Instead of writing the usual blog today, I would like to take some time to talk about something that is near and dear to our hearts. September 11 is a day that no one will forget and I would like to honor three Verizon fallen heroes that lost their lives in the attack.

The events of Sept. 11, 2001, in New York presented Verizon Communications with an immediate, critical challenge - quickly repair widespread damage in an area as densely populated and so critical to the financial world as lower Manhattan. Verizon's employees responded to the emergency by helping the New York Stock Exchange resume trading and handle record volumes less than a week after the attacks, helping small businesses survive by transferring their phone numbers to temporary locations and much more.

Those that were been lost will never be forgotten. We will remember the past as we continue to move forward. So please take a moment out of your busy days to reflect briefly on that day, and honor all those affected directly and indirectly by the events of 9/11.
